The Gold Country Kiwanis through guidance and example, works to develop future generations of leaders. Every day, Kiwanians are revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth-sports programs, planting trees, and performing countless other projects to help children and our community.
Serves . . . . .
Western Nevada County through community service projects in support of our youth, senior citizens, and the community at large.
Fund Raising . . .
Our major fund raising project s are a food booth at the Nevada County Fair as well as the Draft Horse Classic. In addition, we launched a new fund raising project in 2007 - the Kiwanis Beach Party, presented for the first time, and very successfully, on November 9, 2007.
The Second Annual Kiwanis Beach Party was on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City.
Last year's Beach Party was held on Friday, November 20th at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City. The Beach Partty had a catered Hawaiian Buffet Dinner, Auction and Dance, along with live music by Rock & Roll band Sgt Funky. Some of the auction items included San Francisco 49ers tickets and gourmet dinners. To see some pictures of our BeachParty, click on

Service Projects . . . . .
In addition to our support of three Key Clubs, one at each of our local high schools, we also stage a Kiwanis Back-to-School project where almost 60 elementary school students are assisted with their back to school needs. This project is co-sponsored by K-Mart.
We also support a variety of other community service projects through the activities of our Team One committee, including a very successful pediatric trauma and child car seat replacement program.
Our Goal . . .
We have barely enough members to successfully support the projects we are currently working on but not enough to do what we would like to do for our community.
